Most of us have known Jim and Janie for quite some time, but they became official members on Sunday, January 25, 2026 and we are so happy to welcome them "officially" after a 38 year membership  at Peachtree Presbyterian in Atlanta. They’ve been visitors at SGIUMC for 25 years. Fun fact-when their son was very young, he went to Sunday school in the metal building that we now call the thrift store!
When they became full time residents of SGI, they visited various churches in the area, but naturally kept coming back to SGIUMC because it felt like home. "We’ve met so many warm and friendly people and love the small church feeling, especially being able to see first-hand how important our missions are in this area". 
Jim and Janie take their committment to support the church through their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness seriously, having served in many capacities. At present they are a part of SPRC and Finance committees, as well as are involved in our GLOW ministry.
